Selena Castillo travels to New Orleans to arrange the funeral of her Aunt Isobel, killed in a burglary attempt. When she arrives at the airport, she is met by a scruffy looking chauffeur with her name on a sign. He tells her that he is an FBI agent and that her aunt’s murder might have been more than a burglary gone bad. Selena, a newspaper reporter, smells a story, despite her grief at losing her last relative. Then Agent Lambruzzi informs her that he will be playing her less than perfect husband for the duration of her trip to the city. A snuff porn ring is involved in the death of Isobel, and Vic Lambruzzi will be on hand to protect Selena and hopefully catch the killer.

Voodoo Nights is a spine-tingling suspense novel. Serena travels to arrange her aunt’s funeral and finds herself embroiled in an FBI case with a very attractive Special Agent. She finds herself falling for Vic Lambruzzi’s Cajun charm and he finds himself just as attracted to her. The case becomes more personal than he wants, and her safety starts to matter too much. Events in their pasts make it difficult for the two to get together, and events in the present might keep them from ever getting together. The author is a master of romantic tension, and the suspense aspects will keep the reader on the edge of her seat.

I really liked this one.
