Hannah is an ex-nun who married the first man she was attracted to after leaving the convent. Peter is undemonstrative and cold. Denny Lorenzo is a pop star who recently recovered from a devastating car accident that left him scarred and with a limp and his estranged wife without a memory. They meet by chance and fall in love. Everything seems to be against them, religion, marital status, distance, are only the start. They have an almost affair, seeing each other when they can, writing, calling, but not consummating the relationship sexually. Denny’s wife is determined to keep her status as the star’s wife, even though she has been repeatedly unfaithful, and Peter becomes cruel and abusive, after finding out about the almost affair. The couple do their best to stay away from each other to no avail, but are too much in love to forget about each other.

Strange things seem to be happening on tour. Denny gets a note telling him to stay away from Hannah, and suffers from strange ailments and accidents. Hannah is also ill, is someone trying to stop their affair permanently?

This novel is full of drama and tension. The relationships between the different characters are very complicated and engrossing. The story line is really gripping and has no slow areas. The characters are very realistic and well drawn. I never guessed the villain, due to the red herrings. I read this not so short book in one sitting, it was an excellent read.
