| Have you ever wondered how you would handle a personal tragedy in your life? How you would handle becoming crippled, blind or unable to continue to live as you are today? How would you survive violence?
Eden was raped, beaten and blinded by her boyfriend, Greg. But she never gave up. She managed to escape and survive. The story actually starts a year later. She helped ensure Greg was convicted and sentenced. This helped her feel safe. She attended classed at the Institute for the Blind. Now she can cope with most of the day-to day living skills. She can even go on line and shop for a new home away from the city. She moves to Raven’s Cove, a small town on the coast. She chose a small town so she could learn her way around and the people could learn to know her. She wants this comfort and familiarity before Greg gets out of prison. Eden plans to sculpt since she feels she can no longer design and put together presentations with the advertising agency she used to work with. There is even a studio on the second floor of her cottage in Raven's Cove. As she moves in she learns her new home is rumored to be haunted. An artist was murdered there many years ago. No one can live there since. Mark does not take long to introduce himself to Eden. A tantalizing smell of rosemary and pine every time he comes near her. She first feels a warm touch on the back of her neck, a soft touch a kiss on her fingers. She experiences vivid Technicolor visions of the death of a very attractive man who she cannot forget. Each night Eden and Mark cross the borders of the physical world as they explore passion together, going further and deeper until they learn to merge their spirits. A second near-death experience for Eden gives her what her heart and soul desire above all else. Adrianne Dane has written a very strong woman in Eden. I wish I could have watch her more of her growth prior to her move to Raven's Cove. She survived tragedy that could have destroyed most people. And she did not just survive. She took control of her life. She took classes, made plans and started a new career. She even went to a new place to begin her new life. Mark is an interesting man. Again, most of his personal growth is off-scene, so to speak. He did not believe in love when he was alive and not even when he first met Eden. Vengeance alone kept him from finding peace or moving on. But after meeting and learning to love Eden, Mark became a man in the true sense of the word. Each night as passion and love allowed him to move deeper into Eden's spirit he became more determined to protect her. Adrianne Dane had given us two very dynamic characters to enjoy. This is a short read but it has passion for all of its brevity. I could see this as a neat TV movie.
