Clarissa Burdick is in a bind when her father passes away and she learns unless she is married, or reached the age of twenty-five, she has no part in the department store. Even though her father had wanted a son to run Burdick and Company, Clarissa did her best. She refuses to allow her uncle to drag her through the courts to ruin her late father’s company. If she must find a husband and stay married to him for the next twelve months, until her twenty-fifth birthday, she intends to do so. She will make sure it is in name only, to help keep the company afloat. Devin Flannery is a poor Irish boxer who works in an icehouse. He is surprised when a socialite inquires his assistance. He is hesitant at first, then realizes the money will help his siblings, so agrees to her terms. They are completely different, but something in the way their eyes make contact, only heightens their deepening love toward the other. Can the two find that happy medium that will help them overcome any obstacles?

Wholesale Husband is rich in sharp dialogue that kept this reader thoroughly interested. The chemistry between Clarissa and Devin is to die for, in this positively breathtaking read. Devin is the perfect male that would make any woman swoon while devoting complete love and loyalty. The characters are lifelike and connect with the reader. This delicious read was good from the beginning to the end. With each turn of the page, the story only grew better and better, spinning into a remarkable tale hard to put down. I loved Devin’s siblings and how they responded to his wedding. Lilly Gayle creates a well-developed plot that made this story truly captivating; a spectacular read that will be hard to forget.
