| ER physician Parker Rigby has been pushed to his limit. He goes to the mountains to consider ending it all. Instead he finds himself trying to save a gorgeous naked man who has been shot. Little does he know this single act of kindness and this one person will change his life forever.
Jindra Salman is a Raptvyn, his a race of shape-shifting birds. In his world ménage is commonplace. Being next in line to lead the flock, he's expected to produce an heir with a mate chosen by his father. Therefore, he chooses to live away from the flock because he doesn't want an heir or two mates. On his way home for family business, he's shot out of the sky and saved by a gorgeous doctor hiking in the woods. Jindra and Parker are immediately drawn to one another, but soon realize that for a relationship to work between a human and a raptvyn it will take complete honesty and trust, two things that don't come easily for either. I enjoyed this story and although at first it seemed to be way out there, Kate Hill successfully draws the reader in and makes them understand this unusual world. She paints such a beautiful picture of the Raptvyn people and their society. I loved Jindra and Parker from the beginning. The story is written in such a way that we share their every emotion and struggle as they find a relationship and then to hold on to it. It doesn’t hurt that they're both gorgeous, honorable men either. I was a little skeptical at first with shape-shifting birds, but Ms. Hill made their world real and I loved it. Great job! I look forward to reading more from this great author and hope Arno gets his story someday.
