Due to the Dante Comet passing, the dead are back among the living. It has created havoc and most are not pleased to see the rising of the dearly departed. With that in mind the Zombie Initiative gives them rights as undead citizens. Sometimes the laws aren't enforced and the zombies take the brunt of it thereby causing more problems. That is the main reason some try to pass as breathers, an act that is punishable by law. Jericho and Dex are zombies. Both work on a film set, Jericho as a zombie extra. Dex remains closeted passing as a breather to continue his job as a make-up artist. They have a loving relationship but keep things private as to not draw attention to themselves. If the powers that be find out About Dex it would be the end of everything. When a zombie hating director plans the ultimate death scene the men are forced to make a hard decision. A decision that will change their undead life forever.

This was a surprisingly interesting read. I wasn't sure what to expect although the author's blurb is intriguing. I was hoping what it promised was delivered. It definitely was and I was pleasantly engaged in a rather unique paranormal romance. I was very happy this book wasn't about the usual apocalyptic brain eating zombie. It can be a challenge to write a zombie story that involves intimacy without making the reader squeamish. The author met the challenge and penned a quirky engaging read. It's more than the romance between Jericho and Dex although that is the heart of it. I really liked the craftily plotted and thought provoking societal aspects of the story. That in itself exceeded my expectations as I settled down to an unusual yet absorbing read. The characters and creative plot kept me engaged to the end. The ending left a suggestion of more to come. I hope so.
