When Mia is shot and almost killed, Dan and his team race to locate the real robot and find the killers before they can strike again.
Reviews for Visions of Darkness
"Visions of Darkness is an action packed, thrill per page novel. Ms. Rochelle has outdone herself with this suspense filled story. I loved the fact that I never knew or even guessed who the thieves were or how they were connected. I hung on to every word and could not stop reading. The characters are very well developed and the descriptions are vivid enough you can almost imagine you are there. I will be reading this book again in the near future. Overall this book is outstanding and is a must read for anyone who loves a good book." - 5 cups, Liadan, Coffee Time Romance
"Author Rochelle gives us murder, blackmail and lots of suspense, as well as some fascinating information about psychic powers." - Literary Nymphs
"Two words for Judith Rochelle: Thank You!!! I so loved this book and the whole Phoenix Agency is making me wonder who will be next in this awesome series. Judith brings us back into The Lotus Circle an organization that not many people know about but is slowly growing. We have Mia Fleming who has a unique talent to her yet because of past criticism people think she is crazy. Then you have a tough man who finally meets a woman who can complete him only to find someone wanting to kill her off. There is so much suspense, action, betrayal and oh yes romance that make this a hit form Judith Rochelle. She is becoming a favorite author for me. Not only is it great but also you get to meet past characters from her bestseller Always on My Mind. Vision of Darkness can be read alone but to get the real sense of coming back to a family read the first one. I loved it and can't wait for more. I highly recommend Vision of Darkness and Always on My Mind." - Melinda, Night Owl Romance
"Wow! Judith Rochelle has created a brilliant sequel to Always on My Mind. I was impressed with the writing and the story in the first book. Romantic suspense with characters that have psychic powers is a particular favorite of mine. Judith didn't falter. Visions of Darkness surpassed my expectations. High octane suspense kept me on the edge of my seat holding my breath throughout the novel. The relationship between Mia and Dan was beautiful and gave me the warm fuzzies. I loved how Dan, a modern day battle-hardened warrior, showed sensitivity and caring to Mia. I also loved that Mia, had strength and courage not to back down when all she wanted to do was hide as most would in her situation. I'm impatient for the next book in the series and seeing more of those delicious Phoenix men. This series is turning out to be one of the best I've ever read." - 5 hearts, Abi, The Romance Studio

About Judith Rochelle
I always wanted adventure and change in my life, and I certainly got it. I grew up in Maine, a beautiful place to live, then lived in the Midwest and Florida. Now I make my home in the Hill Country of Texas, truly God's chosen place on earth. My husband, David, is a sixth generation Texan, tracing his roots here back to the time when Texas was a Republic, so retiring here was a dream we finally fulfilled.
I've had a lot of firsts in my life - first female sports report on The Michigan Daily at the University of Michigan; first woman to own a rock and roll agency in Detroit, the home of Motown; first woman president of the Pasco (Florida) Economic Development Council.

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a double major in English and History, and a minor in economics., and went on to have at least four careers. When my children were small, I satisfied my need for writing by working for weekly newspapers. I had a wild and wacky time managing rock and roll bands. I joined the insanity of retail with a string of shoe stores. I worked in fundraising, public affairs and community relations. But writing fiction was always my dream. I had a lot of stops and starts, but it wasn't until we retired that I could devote myself to it full time.
My wonderful husband, David, encourages me and supports me in my dream. Our children are all grown and on their own, and are my biggest fans.
When I'm not writing I'm an avid reader - anything and everything - and watching football, especially my beloved Michigan Wolverines. David and I golf and target shoot., and of course enjoy life in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country, where most of my stories are based.
I am a member of Romance Writers of America, and San Antonio Romance Authors, Diamond State Romance Authors, and Passionate Ink chapter of RWA.

An Interview with Judith Rochelle
By Katie Raines, Assistant for The Romance StudioKR: Judith, thank you for joining us at TRS. Please tell us about your featured work, Visions of Darkness. JR: Dan Romeo the CEO of the mysterious Phoenix Agency, has just completed a dangerous mission and wants some down time. But his friend Chase Carpenter has just received an anonymous tip that his brand new high tech robot is about to be stolen, and he wants Dan’s help. Dan tracks the tip to art historian Mia Fleming, who has the gift of precognition. The visions relating to the robot are so vivid she can’t ignore them, even though she knows her message would be received with skepticism. Thus the anonymity. But Dan, who is a believer in the world of parapsychology convinces her to work with him. As their investigation moves forward, the electricity between Dan and Mia ratchets up into high voltage and they find it’s not something they can ignore. But then bodies begin falling, Mia’s visions escalate in horror and intensity and the tension at Carpenter Techtronics is off the charts. When Mia is shot and almost killed, Dan and his team race to locate the real robot and find the killers before they can strike again.
KR: This is the second book in your Phoenix Agency series. How did this series come about? JR: Marilyn Campbell, Managing Consultant of The Lotus Circle, asked me if I’d like to write a book for the new sister aspect to the book. I had just been listening to a CD on which one of the songs was by the late Townes Van Zandt, called If I Need You. It starts out If I need you, would you come to me, and I thought, okay, how would someone know they were needed? My mind wandered into telepathy (pardon the pun) and the idea for Always On My Mind was born. I made each of the heroes ex-military because I love stories with military heroes. The first book was so well received we decided to turn it into a five-book series.
KR: How does this story continue where Always on My Mind left off? JR: Always On My Mind was about Mark Halloran and Faith Wilding, and Mark’s rescue by the Phoenix Agency led by their CEO, Dan Romeo. In visions, we have Dan’s story, and I introduce Mia. Faith and Mark are now married and have secondary roles in the book.
KR: Can you tell us about the third book, Scent of Danger? JR: This one is Rick Latrobe’s story. He was the first person at Phoenix Faith made contact with in Always. And one of the main characters is a dog with Psi abilities who bonds mentally not only with his owner but also, for some unexplained reason, with Rick, and becomes his living warning alert. I used the Caucasian Ovchartka because they are suspected of having Psi abilities and communicating silently with their master or mistress. And of course, Rick and Thor’s mistress fall in love. What else, right? Because for me it’s always, first and last, about the romance.
KR: Tell us about the Lotus Circle and what makes it so unique as a publisher. JR: It’s unique in that it’s a multi-faceted, internet based source for psychic and metaphysical books, both fiction and non-fiction. The basic concept behind the web site is that there is an international network of women with various psychic abilities, metaphysical skills or gifts, whose goal is to bring enlightenment to the world. The books all deal with the psychic world yet in fiction they cover everything from contemporary romance to historicals to romantic suspense to intrigue. And the non-fiction covers every area of the metaphysical spectrum. The web site also serves as a link for a network of women all over the world sharing their psychic gifts.
KR: What can you tell us about Last Ride on the Merry Go Round? JR: This is a sequel to Redemption, a romantic suspense, and features Dino Brancuzzi, who had a major secondary role in Redemption. The hero in that book, Ethan Caine, is based on a real life person, a close friend of my son’s. The two of them and a mutual friend were discussing the book when they were out for breakfast one morning. Steven told his friend about the new book and Bill said, “Oh, yeah, that’s so and so.” My son and I were both shocked that I had pulled out a real life character I knew nothing about! Anyway, in this book, Ethan Caine received a shocking visit from someone that plunges him into a new nightmare, but Dino has the major role in hunting the killers and saving the heroine.
KR: How much time do you devote to your writing career, Judith? JR: A lot! My kids keep trying to remind me that I’m retired and this is supposed to be a hobby. LOL! Most days I’m up at six with the cats, answer email and send out promo for two hours. Break for breakfast and some down time with my wonderful husband, then back at the computer for 5-6 hours. This usually includes weekends, too, unless we have special plans. And during football season I’m on my laptop ten hours a day watching football and writing.
KR: What's the most important thing you've learned in your writing career? JR: Actually, three things. That a good editor is your best friend, and I am blessed with excellent editors at all three of my publishers. Never to take yourself too seriously. And to develop a thick skin! Oh, and of course, never, ever quit.
KR: What goals have you set for yourself? JR: My goals have actually changed in the past year with the success of my books. I used to think being contracted to a NY publisher would be the ultimate goal, but I woke up one day and discovered I’m really in a good place. I write for three different publishers and my books are doing well. I have projects that will take me into the next three years and who knows after that. So I guess my biggest goal right now is to write that one breakout book that will nudge me out of the bug pile of authors and to build my recognition factor with my readers. And of course, to keep improving my writing.
KR: What would you like to tell the readers out there? JR: I love you all. I love your emails and I love hearing from you. You are what makes it all worthwhile.
KR: Thank you!
