Reviews for Always on My Mind
"Always On My Mind was a gripping and emotional story. The men who are part of the Phoenix group introduced in this story will make wonderful main characters in future books. I am also hoping the author does more with the psychic group with which Faith's Aunt Vivi belongs called the Lotus Circle." - 5 Angles from Fallen Angels Review
"Always on My Mind is an action-packed adventure that delves into the potential of psychic abilities, similar to those Kay Hooper writes. Rochelle has written about two very likeable characters and the determination of true love. I found the story to be a gripping page turner and hope she continues with some of the other characters who were present in this story. I, for one, would love to see their adventures. While psychic abilities are a key part of the story, they are not so over the top that you think they are impossible. Add to that the super hot military men and you have a winner in Always on My Mind." - 5 stars from Joyfully Reviewed
"Oh my god this is one so worth buying. Even once I finished it was still on my mind. I was so moved by the strong emotions going through each characters and I hope that there will be more like this novel from Judith Rochelle. I would love to know more about the characters like the whole Phoenix group, hunky ex-ops that will make you wonder about their own story. This book has it all romance, telepathic abilities, passion and that soul binding romance that comes only once in a lifetime. All of this is in one book that is definitely a keeper for this reader." - Recommended Read from Night Owl Reviews
"OMG!!!!!! Did this book rock and keep me on the edge on my sweat as I tried to figure out who the leak was. Always On My Mind is one of those rare books that linger once the last page has been read and I could see the jungle with the dense foliage, the birds flying for cover when shots were fired, Faith, and the bad guys virtually shiver. Sometimes, when you are bogged down in red tape you think you can do nothing and you just give up but Faith was a strong courageous woman who took matters into her own hands." - Two Lips Reviews
"This Lotus Circle offering is a top-notch read blending a backstory of romance with a realistic, and often violent, suspense tale. Rochelle's written a well-crafted heroine who's got extra-special skills." - 4 stars from Romantic Times Book Reviews

About Judith Rochelle
I always wanted adventure and change in my life, and I certainly got it.. I grew up in Maine, a beautiful place to live, then lived in the Midwest and Florida. Now I make my home in the Hill Country of Texas, truly God's chosen place on earth. My husband, David, is a sixth generation Texan, tracing his roots here back to the time when Texas was a Republic, so retiring here was a dream we finally fulfilled.
I've had a lot of firsts in my life - first female sports report on The Michigan Daily at the University of Michigan; first woman to own a rock and roll agency in Detroit, the home of Motown; first woman president of the Pasco (Florida) Economic Development Council.
I graduated from the University of Michigan with a double major in English and History, and a minor in economics., and went on to have at least four careers. When my children were small, I satisfied my need for writing by working for weekly newspapers. I had a wild and wacky time managing rock and roll bands. I joined the insanity of retail with a string of shoe stores. I worked in fundraising, public affairs and community relations. But writing fiction was always my dream. I had a lot of stops and starts, but it wasn't until we retired that I could devote myself to it full time.
My wonderful husband, David, encourages me and supports me in my dream. Our children are all grown and on their own, and are my biggest fans.
When I'm not writing I'm an avid reader - anything and everything - and watching football, especially my beloved Michigan Wolverines. David and I golf and target shoot., and of course enjoy life in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country, where most of my stories are based.
I am a member of Romance Writers of America, and San Antonio Romance Authors, Diamond State Romance Authors, and Passionate Ink chapter of RWA. I have been published for two and a half years by The Wild Rose Press and now The Lotus Circle. You can find my books online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Buy.com, Books-a-million and Alibris.

A note from Judith...
Always On My Mind and Visions Of Darkness are the first two books in a psychic romantic intrigue series about the mysterious men of the Phoenix Agency and the special psychic gifts each of their women has.
On the Run is my latest release, from The Wild Rose Press. It is a romantic suspense that also deals with the issue of domestic violence. All money from sales of this book have been earmarked by the publisher, cover artist and author for an organization that assists victims of domestic violence.
An Interview with Judith Rochelle
By Holly Hewson, Marketing Director for The Romance StudioHH: Judith, thanks for talking with us at TRS. Please tell us about your featured book, Always on My Mind. JR: This is the first book in a series of psychic romantic intrigues for The Lotus Circle, sister imprint to Ellora’s Cave.
As teenagers Faith Wilding and Mark Halloran discovered they could communicate telepathically. For most of their lives it’s been their private way to send messages, especially when a long weekend brought home the realization that their friendship had become something far more complex. But Faith is busy building a career as a successful author of political thrillers and Mark, a Special Operations team leader, is concerned with the covert missions he leads.
Now someone has betrayed their latest mission, most of his team has been killed and Mark has been captured. His telepathic messages to Faith are his only chance for help. But powerful forces want to sweep the whole episode under the rug and will do anything to make that happen—including killing Faith.
HH: Tell us about your two fascinating characters, linked together by telepathy in youth and brought together now. JR: Faith Wilding is a best-selling author of political thrillers. She’s sharp, she’s smart and she’s savvy. She’s known Mark Halloran since they were kids and always harbored a latent crush on him, one that came to full bloom as they grew older. But Mark is typical macho military, a top notch member of a Delta Force team, yet Faith brings out a more emotional side of him. One weekend when he’s on a weekend off he discovers she’s doing a book signing not far from his hotel. He drops in to see her, they have dinner, and nature most definitely takes its course. But she is busy with her career and he is committed to the military. Then he’s captured and life turns upside down for them. When I was writing Faith’s character I wanted the reader to know that she has grit and determination while still being soft and sexy. She’s the one who knocks down walls to mount a rescue operation. And in captivity, Mark realizes that he needs to have Faith in his life on a more permanent basis.
HH: This story was written for The Lotus Circle. What sets this unique publisher apart in today's industry? JR: Every book both fiction and non-fiction, deals with some aspect of the psychic world. There are so many ways to expand the mind, and so many psychic phenomena that people don’t understand. Hopefully with these books we’ll reach a wider scope of readers and introduce them to the psychic world.
HH: What made you decide to write for this publisher? JR: I was already writing for Ellora’s Cave when I was approached by Marilyn Campbell, managing consultant for The Lotus Circle, who asked me to submit to them. They wanted to publish works of fiction that would introduce new readers to the psychic world. I already had an idea for a series of books that I want to expand, and this fit right in with it. The idea for this book actually came from a song by the late Townes Van Zandt, If I Needed You.
HH: What challenges do you face in writing about characters who have abilities beyond that of a normal person? JR: I had to be able to put myself in each character’s place and try to feel what they did. But before I could do that I did a lot of research on telepathy and talked to a couple of experts. Then I had to figure out how to do it so it would seem logical to the reader.
HH: What do you enjoy about writing such stories? JR: Taking things beyond normal boundaries. Exploring new areas. Learning about new things and weaving them into a story to give it a new dimension.
HH: What can you tell us about your other Lotus Circle release, Visions of Darkness? JR: The heroine of this book, Mia Fleming, is precognitive. She has visions. Because of a particular series of visions she meets Dan Romeo, friend of mark Halloran’s and the head of the Phoenix Agency investigating a theft she has precognitions about. I loved weaving her visions into the story and using them as clues. The interesting thing about precognition is that most people don’t understand the visions aren’t always clear. They can be just flashed of something. Or symbols that have to be interpreted. An d they don’t always come at night. The precog can be sitting down doing something and boom! There’s the brief vision. That’s what happens to Mia as the book opens.
HH: What can you tell us about the Phoenix Agency? JR: I modeled it after Blackwater, the civilian security contractor that I truly believe, despite what the media would like you to think, that they fill a niche and do an excellent job. And also after an agency run by a former SEAL in the books by Vince Flynn. There are four partners, each from a different branch of the service, each with different skills. At the end of Always On My Mind Mark agrees to be the fifth partner as soon as his tour of duty is up. They train corporate security in things like kidnap prevention, are experienced in hostage rescue and recapturing planes from hijackers, provide bodyguard service to select clients and work under contract to the government on covert ops. They are all honorable men who believe in the ideals of their country.
HH: If you were to have an extraordinary ability, what it would be and why? JR: I’d love to be a telepath. I’ve read so many books by other authors who write about telepathic abilities and I think it would be so satisfying to have that gift.
HH: What else do you have in store for readers in 2008? JR: I’ve just completed Scent of Danger, the third book in the Phoenix series. I’m working on Last Ride on the Merry Go Round, a sequel to Redemption. On the Run, released June 29, is a romantic suspense that deals with domestic violent and all monies raised from the sale of the book will go to agencies that help victims of domestic violence. I have two more romantic suspense novels in process, and I just may write a fourth book in the White Tail, Texas series. I love writing about Texas.
HH: What would you like to tell readers out there? JR: Please let me hear from you. You can reach me at judithrochelle@judithrochelle.com. You’re the ones I write my books for so tell me what you like, what you don’t like and what you’d like to see.
HH: Thank you!
