Andrea wakes up over 600 years in the future, light years from the Earth she loved and in a civilization totally foreign to her. Human physical contact and traditional relationships have become things of the past and for a woman with a passionate physical nature this is hard to understand.

At first Andrea tries to avoid the three men that rescued her, however, loneliness drives her to befriend them and become a part of the team. Andrea is determined to teach Cole, Nick, and Tremaine that not all old Earth customs were bad.

On their journey to self-discovery Andrea shakes up the politics of the known Universe as she gives hope and love and passion to all those with minds open enough to follow her on her Journey To Diir. She shows how hard it will be but also what the rewards are for those who can truly grow up into more than we are now as humans -- who can learn to love without jealousy and live with passion -- as Old Earth and New Earth come together with passion that would rival a super nova.

Reviews for Journey to Diir

5 Angels and a Recommended Read at Fallen Angels Reviews "How would you feel if you woke in a strange room, on a strange bed with a strange man standing over you? This is what happened to Andrea Stone. Her last memory is of being in a hospital room with her husband and a doctor standing by her side. Andrea had a serious heart defect and it was failing.

Now over 600 years into the future she is awoken, her heart defect healed as well as some minor problems and her allergies too. Andrea is given a new life, but all she is knew is gone and many things have changed. This is her story.

Lynn Sterling's Journey to Diir grabbed me by the throat and wouldn't let go. I want to say right off this is the longest eBook I have read to date, and one of the best. Lynn Sterling crafted Journey to Diir with lots of love and attention to detail; you can read it in every line. The characters; human, alien and AI all have elements of strength and weakness, you love some, you hate some. As the main characters come together you feel a part of the whole as it evolves. The trials and tribulations are tough to deal with after the relative calm of Andrea's early days but they move the story along. The secondary characters belonged and merged nicely with the whole. There were several surprises along the way. This story had it all trauma, danger, humor, compassion, empathy and most of all Love. Lynn Sterling is a must buy for me now and Journey to Diir is an adventure I can't wait to continue." - Dana P.

"Journey To Diir (pronounced Die-ear) was the beginning novel of a futuristic romantic trilogy. A very long book, the characters are extremely well-written and the plot laid out to continue through the next two books. There was a great deal of romance and sex that was not overly graphic. Andrea was the character around who the entire story revolves. Mordred was just a huge amount of fun, a primary character in this book. Secondary characters were brought into the plot as needed and they were equally well described and important to the plot. The premise was fascinating and I thought that Ms. Sterling handled her plot with deft hands. Her imagination gave the ideas of this new world a fresh and interesting touch. My only problem with Journey To Diir were technical flaws that took me away from the story on occasion. I loved the characters and lost myself in their lives as I was reading. I am eagerly awaiting the next book, Diir Evolution. Go get Journey To Diir, you will love it!" - 4 hearts, Marcy Arbitman, The Romance Studio

About Lynn Sterling

Lynn Sterling has spent the last 17 years traveling the United States and Canada working as a production accountant in film and television. The first thing that she learned was that the film industry was a massive collection of one-of-a-kind professionals that pour their lives into making fantasy. The cast, crew, fabulous locations and life on the road inspired her to put them into her stories.

Lynn splits her time between Los Angeles and her home in the mountains, but writes wherever the spirit strikes. Although she still works for a major studio, writing gives her a creative avenue to share her passion for life; passion being the key word.

Lynn says, As much as we strive to have our feet planted firmly on the ground, our hearts still yearn for that swept away, bowl-you-over romance where we find out for the first time that our bodies can forget how to breath when we are close to that special person. Lynn's goal is to let everyone allow the passion in her books to inspire them to find some passion of their very own. After all, we never know when love will strike.

An Interview with Lynn Sterling
By Katie Raines, Assistant for The Romance Studio

KR: Lynn, thank you for joining us at TRS. What can you tell us about your featured work, Journey to Diir?

LS: I more or less wrote 'Journey' in my head months before I entered a keystroke. After mentioning the storyline to my staff one day, they encouraged me to put it down on paper. Andrea's living my dream summer vacation!

KR: Your heroine is cryogenically frozen until a cure can be found for the disease that will kill her. She is rescued by three very attractive men six hundred years in the future where touch is obsolete. Where did you get the idea for this amazing story?

LS: I know that women are supposed to want that one perfect man. Really? Isn't he really a mixture of 3 types? How terrific would it be to have that warm romantic type for the walks on the beach, the light and fun type for jet skiing and ball games and that commanding, confident one for the moments when you just don't have the energy to make one more decision?

KR: How did you go about creating the future world your heroine awakes in?

LS: At first I wanted Andrea's environment to be limited so that she could explore her new life and how she fit into the new century. After she gets her footing, I kept adding experiences in pieces so that she could get comfortable. Diir had to be unique, so I added some sparkle.

KR: What did you enjoy about writing this story?

LS: Being able to address serious racial issues under the guise of new races. That's the real beauty of sci-fi.

KR: What challenges did you face?

LS: Not getting lost in the timeline. I had to keep notes so that I knew where she was in her time.

KR: What did you like best about Andrea?

LS: Her humanity. She never lets the money or threats change her mind.

KR: As someone well versed in the entertainment industry, what made you decide to try writing romantic fiction?

LS: I've always loved sci-fi and romance. Working films & TV, we think in script mode. This idea just came to me as a script and evolved into a novel.

KR: Do you feel at an advantage for your career in television and film?

LS: They always say that, in our industry, it's who you know. A good friend that I met on a film in Denver turned me onto a friend of her's that is now my publisher. So, the short answer is 'yes'.

KR: What do you enjoy about writing fiction?

LS: Fiction allows me to address political or cultural issues with a lighter touch. Getting on the soapbox can be boring, but slanting a bias against Martians or the Gen-Eng gets people to care.

KR: What do you have in store for readers in coming months?

LS: Although I'm currently working on another TV project, I'm 10 chapters into the next novel in the Diir series. Trust me, I'm chipping away so that Andrea gets to go on new adventures.

KR: Any vacation plans this year?

LS: Seriously? When I have time off from my film job; I write. I do take some long weekends to go up to my place at the lake when I can get away. As much as I love LA, it's nice to be in a place where you can see the stars at night and hear the wind as it rushes down the canyons. That's the place that helps me write about romance.

KR: Thank you!
