Kerestyan Nelek hasn’t quite made up his mind. As the Lord of New York, he can’t allow a homeless drug addict, whose memories are packed with knowledge of vampiric existence, to run free in his city. It’s not the first time he’s been in this situation with a human, it’s just the first time in thousands of years he’s come face to face with one who doesn’t seem to care. And that’s what makes the decision so damn difficult.
What horrors would you have to witness before you went numb? How many years would it take for you to feel that way? What would it take to make you care again?
Logan’s answers are simple: the worst humanity has to offer, almost thirty…and something she never expected.
Note: Eternal Seduction is a dark paranormal romance with mild horror elements.

An Interview with Jennifer Turner
By Holly Hewson for The Romance StudioHH: Jen, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Please tell about your featured book, Eternal Seduction. JT: Thanks for having me, Holly! Eternal Seduction is the first book in my Darkness Within series. I think if I had to sum the story up in one word, I'd choose "different". When I started writing ES, I wanted to break the traditional molds for paranormal romance...and I have to admit I'm very happy with the results. If you're looking for something dark that pretty much flies in the face of everything out there right now, Eternal Seduction definitely fits that bill.
HH: A homeless woman in a bleak existence and a powerful vampire. Where did you get the idea for this emotionally-charged story? JT: I got the idea for this story while standing in the book store. I kept picking up books where the heroine had some kind of degreed profession (lawyer, doctor, professor, etc.), and started wondering what if the heroine didn't earn a six figure salary. What if the heroine didn't earn a salary at all? What if she didn't even have a home? That's how Logan Ellis was born, and once all her flaws and strengths came alive, I realized that Kerestyan Nelek was the only man for her. They're very similar, which means a lot when he's a 10,000 year old vampire and she's only a thirty year old human.
HH: What do you like best about Logan and how do you identify with her? JT: Logan is about as sarcastic as one person can be and she doesn't sugar coat anything. I think those traits are what I like best about her. She doesn't lie because it just isn't worth it, and the way she sees the world doesn't allow her to do anything but be brutally honest about herself and the people around her.
As for how I identify with Logan, I'd have to say her sarcasm is definitely a character trait we share. My husband and friends often comment on my quick come-backs, so you'll notice a lot of times through the book where Logan seems to have to perfect response to everything. Sometimes the comments are funny, sometimes they're annoying...but it's a strength and flaw that works well for both of us. :)
HH: How did you get your start as a writer, Jen? JT: Honestly, I think I'm still starting. :) I wrote horror stories as a kid but I never really thought back then that I'd end up writing a book one day. I've been a fan of paranormal romance for a long time, so I basically sat down one afternoon a few years ago and set out to write a book that had everything I wanted to read about. Turns out, and still very much to my surprise, other people like the same things I do!
HH: How did you learn you'd made that first sale? JT: Well, since I'm not traditionally published I didn't get the call or an e-mail offering me a contract. But I distinctly remember how exciting it was to check my sales the day after Eternal Seduction released, and realize I'd sold more in one day than I expected for the entire month. I'm not sure anything that happens in my career will ever compare to that moment.
HH: How have things changed for you since then? JT: They really haven't. I still take my daughter to school every morning. I still cook dinner every night...and I still have to do the laundry. :) I think the only difference now is that my online life is far more interesting. Some days I have more e-mail waiting for me than I know what to do with, but I love hearing from my readers and playing on my message board.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers? JT: Right now, I have about 13 books and a handful of novellas planned for the Darkness Within series. I'm actually hoping to do more than 13 novels in this world, and will, as long as I never feel like I'm writing the same story twice. Aside from that, I haven't given much thought to what I'd write next. Maybe a straight up horror novel, something that would give even Stephen King nightmares. :) I think I could do that!
HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career? JT: My main goal is to focus on one book at a time. As a reader, I get really disappointed when a series I love starts out strong but as the books progress, you get the sense the author is rushing it. I promised myself when I started writing my series that I would give each book as much time as it needs to develop. Telling each character's story the way it should be told is extremely important to me. And I think if I take the time to do that, neither me nor my readers will ever feel cheated.
HH: What are you reading at the moment? JT: I'm currently reading Harm None by MR Sellars. I'm about half way through and loving it so far!
HH: What would you consider a perfect day? JT: A perfect day for me is one where my husband cooks dinner and my 9 year old daughter cleans her room without being asked. Oh, and if the weather could manage 75 and sunny, that works too!
HH: Thank you!
