About Debbie Wallace
I'm a multi-published author living in Florida. When I'm not writing steamy romances you can find me antiquing or traveling to interesting places like Alaska, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Greece, France, and the Bahamas.
Born in December of 1955 and originally from Maine, I'm devoted to my small family. We travel together and they bring out the adventurer in me, whether I want them to or not. When we cruised to Alaska they managed to get me into a helicopter for a ride to an isolated glacier, on a go-cart where we traveled through the wilderness, and dog sledding!
In fact, it was the encouragement of my daughter and niece that prompted me into submitting to a publisher. Imagine how thrilled I was when two short months later I received a contract from Whiskey Creek Press for CUPID'S ARROW. And what a confidence booster that romance turned out to be. It was on the publisher's best sellers list for two consecutive months!
Writing has always been my passion and I believe that all romances should have a happy ending. The formula for my novels are plots filled with suspense, humor and -- steamy sex.

An Interview with Debbie Wallace
By Holly Hewson for The Romance StudioHH: Debbie, thanks for talking with us at TRS. Please tell us about your featured book, Cupid's Arrow. DW: Thanks for having me, Holly. CUPID'S ARROW is the first book I was actually offered a contract for. It was on the publisher's best sellers list for two consecutive months! I included a blurb below.

Mike has his hands full between working as a police detective and raising a teenage daughter by himself. The last thing he's looking for is a relationship to complicate his life, much less love. However, he finds himself immediately smitten with Emma Stuart after a mistake lands him at her door. Soon it seems he's bumping into her everywhere he goes. He convinces himself he's not interested, only problem is, why can't he ignore the heat between them every time they meet?

HH: Two people not looking for love seem to see the possibility in each other. Where did you get the idea for this very charming story? DW: As with most of my stories I usually get a little idea in my head, from something I might see on TV, dream of or read about, and before I know it a story is born.
HH: What do you like best about Emma and how do you relate to her? DW: I like the way she cares for other people and I can relate to her sense of humor because that's me coming through.
HH: What do you like best about the sexy Mike? DW: Everything! LOL I like how he's so determined not to be attracted to Emma but he's hooked almost from the first moment they meet. He's a good dad to his thirteen year old daughter, too.
HH: What can you tell us about Someone to Love Me? DW: One of my favorite stories, it was extremely hard to write because the only characters in the book until the last chapter is the hero and heroine. It's the story about two strangers, stranded in a cabin in the Alaskan wilderness, who find love and survival in each other's arms.
HH: What can you tell us about The Senator's Daughter? DW: This is the story about a senator who convinces his friend, who also happens to be a bodyguard, to kidnap his daughter on the eve of her wedding. He believes she's being blackmailed into marriage.
HH: What's your favorite type of story to write and why? DW: I don't know that I have a type. I like contemporary romances with humor and suspense in them. Lately my books have leaned more toward the erotic side.
HH: What type of story would you like to try but haven't at this point? DW: Definitely a vampire or werewolf romance!
HH: What are you reading now? DW: Not much of anything. Unless, the Romantic Times magazine counts:)
HH: What, in your career, are you most excited about this year? DW: Attending the RT Convention! I'm finishing up tomorrow with signing at the book fair. It's been a fun filled week and I've met some wonderful and friendly people. I've learned a lot, too. Today I had my picture taken with the hunky models that have been wandering around all week. I hope to post a few pictures on my blog soon.
HH: Thank you!
