1st Sneak Peek from “Murder Most Foul 2:Batya” a WIP
The risks and dangers were gone. Walker had retired from the F.B.I and spent his days fishing, boating, and doing absolutely nothing. Caroline also came to love the breezy days and warm romantic nights of the Caribbean. The place the two now called home, since Walker helped solve the Vernon James murder case years earlier. The beautiful blonde had moved with her soul mate to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and worked with handicapped children. She still longed for children of her own, but knew she could not push a man like Walker into marriage. It must be his idea, and Caroline knew that. Between working and volunteering her time as a self-defense instructor at the Senior Center, Caroline relished her evenings in the arms of her lover and hero. The two wanted far away from Pleasant Valley and its down and dirty citizens who jeered and criticized their involvement with accused rapist and killer, Vernon James. Their persistence in proving Vernon innocent of a crime that meant his execution if proven guilty, made Walker and Caroline hero’s in many communities, but not Pleasant Valley. That town’s attitude toward Walker and Caroline’s heroics, was met with hisses, boos, and threats. But now, everything seemed heavenly for the couple, or so they thought.
