Check out the blurb.
Divorced and emotionally damaged, artist Grace Stollery wants nothing more than to spend her semi-retirement painting and let time heal her emotional scars.
But when dashing widower Alfred Nobel moves into her retirement village he turns her life upside down and her heart inside out by awakening feelings she wants to keep dormant.
Alfred quickly sets out to woo Grace and slowly she warms to him. But the village’s resident femme fatale wants him for herself. Will she succeed in driving a wedge between Alfred and Grace?
Then 15 December sees the actual book release of what will be Book One of a series titled ‘Not Too Old for Love’.
These will feature characters who are all aged sixty plus, but who live life to the full. Few of them see themselves as old, just older than they once were. And several of them are looking for companionship, friendship, romance, and even relationships.
I got into writing some four years ago because I was impressed that my then fourteen-year-old granddaughter had self-published two novels on Amazon. And I wanted to see if I could—at the age of sixty-nine—write a novel and get it published.
But for me it was more than just wanting to see what I could do. I also wanted to dispel the view that seniors/pensioners are past the stage of having fun, let alone having romance and sexual relationships. So, I thought I would set a romance in the unlikely location of a retirement village, filled with mature people, and see what happened. I think it has worked but you must make your own judgements.
Now, at the age of seventy-three I find myself getting ready to start laying out an outline for Book Two of my ‘Not Too Old for Love’ series. What was going to be a one-off novel has evolved into a series that hopefully will be made up of at least three books. This has largely happened because I was asked if two particular characters could have their own book.
The plan is for future books to all be stand-alone, but to be linked by a common location, and characters from previous books. If you read this one please let me know what characters you’d like to see get their own book, and what couples you think would fit together.
