Attention romance authors! TRS invites you to showcase your storytelling prowess in our exciting TRS TROPES event in 2026. Whether you’re a member of TRS or not, this event is your chance to shine and captivate readers with your unique take on beloved romance tropes.

The Schedule

• 4/13-Small Town Romance: Characters start off as adversaries or rivals and gradually develop romantic feelings for each other.
• 4/27-Second Chance Romance: A love story set in a close-knit community where everyone knows each other—and everyone knows your business.
• 5/11-Opposites Attract: Characters with contrasting personalities, backgrounds, or beliefs find themselves drawn to each other despite their differences. 
• 5/25-MC Romance: Intense, hard-earned, and powerful enough to stand against enemies, rival clubs, and the outlaw life itself.
• 6/15-Mafia: Romance in a dangerous and secretive world of organized crime, where power, loyalty, and family come above all else.
  
• 6/29–Friends to Lovers: Friends who have known each other for a long time realize their feelings have evolved into romantic love.

1. PARTICIPATION: Participation in our event is FREE with a book/prize donation (see below). 

2. BOOK DONATION/GIVEAWAY: For this event, we’re asking each participating author to donate a copy of the book you’re featuring. It can be ebook or print, you just have to send it to the chosen winner at the end of the event. If you want to donate more than a single copy or swag, GC, etc. to go with it, that’s absolutely allowed. Readers will enter the giveaway by voting for their favorite book in trope of the week. One winner for each book/prize will be selected at random by TRS.

3. PROMOTION: Your book will be fully promoted at TRS during this promotion. Your book will be featured for on our front page in a panel like this for the entire week of your chosen trope:

It will be promoted on our TRS Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Twitter/X, and TikTok using graphics we’ll create. We’ll also send you links and copies of the graphics to keep for your use wherever you like.

4. FEATURE YOUR BOOK: You can feature your book a few ways during this promotion. To use these, you must be a participating author.

A. Front Page Baby! It’s a one-day version of our Front Page Promotion. On the day your book is featured, it will appear as the star of our TRS TROPES event:

You can feature your book for $25. Limit one day. This offer is optional.

B. Stop the Press! Each Monday, we’ll be sending a mailing to announce the week’s trope and give excited readers a preview of the week ahead. We’ll spotlight your book in this mailing for added buzz. It will include a special graphic with your cover, and full details about your book. 

Featured your book in this weekly mailing for $15. This offer is optional.

If you want your own mailing during that week, we can do that too for $25. It’s the individual newsletter ad at a great price.This offer is optional.

C. Advertise Across the Event! 

Place a cover ad on ALL of the event pages for $15. This offer is optional.

5. VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE: During the week, we’re running a poll. The book/author with the most votes wins a  Front Page Feature at TRS (value $75) to use in 2025 and a one-minute trailer for their book designed by TRS (value $75-$100). You’re eligible for the vote even if you don’t pay to be featured. It’s open to all who participate. Winner to be announced on Monday of the following week.

5. THE REST: You must be 18 or older and it must be legal to participate where you are.
