Get ready to wrap up 2025 in style! From December 17 through December 21, TRS is throwing a festive week-long celebration designed especially for romance authors and readers alike.

What’s on offer

• Free promotion opportunity: Authors can promote one romance title during the event at no cost. Spaces are limited, so act early. Your book will be spotlighted on TRS’s front page for one day ~ styled for the holidays.
• Giveaway with prizes: All participating authors will be part of an event-wide giveaway. You don’t have to donate a prize (though you may); you must simply be willing to send any award electronically or by mail if you win. One lucky donating author will receive a free year of TRS Featured Membership plus a $500 advertising package.

• Feature your book (optional upgrade):
  • “Front Page Baby” spot: for $25 you can secure one day where your book is the main feature on TRS’s front page or the event page.
  • Mailing highlight: For $15, your book gets featured in the event-mailing that goes out 12/17.
  • Cover ad: Your book cover appears across all event pages from 12/17 thru 12/21 for $15.
  • “Vote for your favorite” contest: Throughout the week, readers will vote for their favorite featured author/book. All participating authors are eligible. The author with the most votes wins a free year of Featured Membership plus a $500 advertising package. Winner will be announced Monday, December 22.

  
  Participation details & fine print

  • Must be 18 or older, and promotion must be legal in your jurisdiction.
  • Each author may promote only one book during the promotion.
  • The book must be in the romance genre (wide interpretation: contemporary, paranormal, historical, LGBTQ+, etc).
  • You do not need to be a TRS Featured Member to participate.

  This is a fantastic way to get your romance title in front of a dedicated audience, boost visibility during a holiday-themed event, and tap into both organic and paid promotional options. The giveaway and contest add extra buzz and engagement, helping build reader interest and author recognition. Plus, it’s free to participate at the base level.

  How to sign up

  Head over to the TRS event page and fill out the sign-up form. On the form you’ll submit your details (name, email), your book info (title, release date, genre, tagline, buy link, cover art), and select your preferred day (12/17 thru 12/21) for your book to be featured.

1. FREE PROMO OPP: You can promote your book for FREE during this promotion. Spaces are limited. Your book will be featured for one day during the week on our front page in a panel like this:

It will be promoted on our TRS Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Twitter/X, and TikTok using graphics we’ll create. We’ll also send you links and copies of the graphics to keep for your use.

2. GIVEAWAY: We’ll be offering a giveaway with the event. Donation of a prize to this giveaway is not required. You must be willing to send the prize to the winner at the end of the giveaway via electronic means or the mail. One author will be randomly selected from those who donate a prize to receive a FREE YEAR OF FEATURED MEMBERSHIP @ TRS ($60 value) + AN ADVERTISING PACKAGE @ TRS ($500 value). If you’re interested in donating a prize for the giveaway, let us know on the sign up form and we’ll email you for details.

3. FEATURE YOUR BOOK: 

You can feature your book a few ways during this promotion. To use these, you must be a participating author.

A. Front Page Baby! It’s a one-day version of our Front Page Promotion. On the day your book is featured, it will appear as the star of our event on the TRS front page:

C. Stop the Press! Each 12/17, we’ll be sending a mailing to announce the week’s featured Spookapalooza books and give excited readers a preview of the week ahead. We’ll spotlight your book in this mailing for added buzz. It will include a special graphic with your cover, and full details about your book. 

Featured your book in this weekly mailing for $15. This offer is optional.

D. If you want your own mailing during that week, we can do that too for $25. It’s the individual newsletter ad at a great price.This offer is optional.

E. Cover ad that will appear on ALL event pages from 12/17-12/21. $15 This offer is optional.

4. VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE: During the week, we’re running a poll. The book/author with the most votes wins a FREE YEAR OF FEATURED MEMBERSHIP @ TRS ($60 value) + AN ADVERTISING PACKAGE @ TRS ($500 value). You’re eligible for the vote even if you don’t donate a prize or pay to be featured. It’s open to all who participate. Winner to be announced on Monday, December 22nd on our site.

5. THE REST: You must be 18 or older and it must be legal to participate where you are. Authors can only promote one book for this promotion. The book must be in the romance genre. You do not have to be a featured member of TRS to participate.
