Ingram Unveils “Covered,” a New Digital Hub for Publisher Catalogs and Review Copies

Timed to coincide with the opening of this year’s Winter Institute in Pittsburgh, Ingram Content Group has announced a new platform designed to streamline how publishers connect with booksellers, librarians, and influencers. The upcoming site, called Covered, will serve as a centralized destination for publisher catalogs and digital review copies, with a beta launch planned for fall 2026 featuring select U.S. publishers. A broader global rollout is expected to follow in 2027.

Covered is positioning itself as an all-in-one discovery and buying tool for the book industry. According to Ingram, the platform will allow publishers to create and share catalogs, distribute digital review copies (DRCs), collect reviews, and apply tags to titles for easier discovery. On the buyer side, users will have access to practical tools such as title markups, buy recommendations, comparable-title tracking, order exports, and selected point-of-sale integrations—features aimed at simplifying purchasing decisions and workflows.

Industry observers have already noted that Covered enters a space long dominated by Edelweiss, a service that has faced growing criticism following price increases after its 2024 ownership change. Ingram’s move suggests a response to that dissatisfaction, offering an alternative that emphasizes accessibility and scale.

“Covered is a natural evolution of how we support the publishing ecosystem digitally,” said Margaret Harrison, Ingram’s vice president of digital services, in a company statement. “Our goal is to create a single, inclusive space where publishers of all types—trade, independent, academic, and more—can present their books to every bookseller and librarian. Ultimately, this is about expanding discovery and helping books reach more readers.”

If successful, Covered could reshape how industry professionals preview, evaluate, and order new books, especially as the platform expands beyond its initial beta and into international markets.
