M.C. ('Mac') Shefflington thought she finally escaped Tom Donaldson and her terrible past.
But just as she’s starting to relax at her new home in Minnesota the hang-up calls start again. Then someone tailgates her on the way to work, the same way that Tom did. Mac knows he’s come back into her life.
Retired Sheriff Harry Mortonson is willing to help Mac because that might alleviate the guilt he feels about his own past and the woman he didn’t help, years ago. But when he gets involved with Mac, he gets far more than he bargained for.
In the end, it’s up to Mac to lure Tom into a trap on one of Minnesota’s frozen lakes for one final confrontation. If she succeeds, she’ll save Harry and their chance for a new life together. But if she fails, Mac may have to relive her past–or die trying.
